Housing – How to Help?

An equipping evening.
7.30pm on Tuesday 21 October 2014 at Highfield Church Centre, Highfield Lane, SO17 1RL.

Do you recognise any of these scenarios?

  1. Spare change please – how to respond to a request for money on the street.
  2. I’m losing my home – how to help someone who is homeless or just about to be.
  3. I need “fair trade” housing – coping with the crisis in the private rented accommodation.
  4. I want to help - exploring the wide range of opportunities to offer support.

The Love Southampton Housing group is hosting an evening event to serve the churches in their response to the growing crisis in housing and homelessness. In some way or another it is touching all our congregations.

We will give you short presentations and information to take away in each of these four areas.

We hope that the evening will equip you to help people you meet in your everyday life who have some kind of housing need. You will be ready with positive ways to advise and support.

In addition, if you feel a calling to help in this area, we hope that this evening will help you make a practical response.
