Amber is a chaplaincy service for women involved in the sex industry in Southampton. We provide a listening ear, emotional and practical support, signposting and prayer.
Outreach Chaplaincy
We work with the police and other local agencies to help those selling sex on the streets feel safe, healthy and listened to. We give out wellbeing gift bags containing condoms, personal attack alarm, toiletries and snacks. We offer Basics Bank food vouchers and mobile credit.
Club Chaplaincy
Our chaplains regularly visit the local lap dancing clubs and take gift bags for all the performers. The clubs are a popular form of adult entertainment with a no touching rule, dancers bring sexual fantasies to life through lap dancing and striptease. We offer confidential listening, emotional support and to meet up outside of club hours. We have received overwhelming support from the management at the clubs.

Parlour Chaplaincy
We visit 11 Thai & Chinese massage parlours in Southampton on a monthly basis. We take along a Thai translator which has really helped with the language and cultural barriers. Many women working there need practical help. We also bless them with a gift bag.
Online Chaplaincy
Our online chaplaincy work is for women advertising on adult websites as escorts. We offer them support (anonymous if wanted) and the opportunity to receive a well-being gift box.
