Southampton Churches Winter Beds

Plans are underway to open churches to bring people in from the cold who are sleeping rough, into warm churches from January. Here is our video showing the project in action and asking for donations and volunteers to support the churches’ project.

City Life are excited to share with you our new promotional video in collaboration with Solent University,

This short film shows the journey of a local 'John Doe' on the streets of Southampton,

Tired and cold he finds himself at the doorstep of The Lighthouse church were he is shown love and hospitality thanks to the funds given by our local community in support of our 'Southampton Winter Beds 2024' fundraiser,

We hope that you enjoy the video and continue to support our course so that we can make Southampton a city where no one has to sleep rough or beg.

We’ve split this up into three volunteer roles:

01 arrival shift serving a hot meal, we need less volunteers for this.

02 overnight shift where you get, four hours sleep and are awake for the other four hours in case there are any issues

03 breakfast shift, serving breakfast and clearing away the beds. There is a team of four on a shift. It’s four weeks from 29 January…

To volunteer, please contact us - winterbeds@citylife.org.uk

Thank you for your support and generous donations...
